My gelding will have dry spots behind his whithers, do y'all have this problem? I have ridden in different combinations of saddles and pads. Or is the something I will have to just deal with. He not even sore.

dry spots, depending on the size of them, are a bad thing.
Smaller spots, about the size of a quarter, indicate bad saddle fit and an excessive amount of pressure in those small areas. Anywhere your horse is dry is where there has been so much pressure that he can not sweat in that specific area.
Larger spots indicate a larger distribution of weight to that area, so are not as bad. But you really want even sweat marks.

Ditto. Large dry spots are not bad, but small ones are showing pressure. Put you saddle on with a pad. Dont girth it up. Now, run your hand under the bars of the saddle (tween pad and saddle) and feel where the pressure is greater.

I have put the saddle on without a pad and felt around. Everything had equal pressure. The pads I have used are saddleright and impact.
