D&G Barrel Productions would like to announce effective with the Nacodogches, Texas show that should a contestant need to vet or doctor release out of a show, they will have until the beginning of that race in order to do so. Our old rule allowed for a full refund with doctor and vet releases up until 10 days prior to the show for a full refund, after that date there were no refunds. Under the new rule you will be allowed to vet or doctor release out of a show up until the first horse runs each day. Upon presentation of a vet or doctor release you will receive all of you entry fees and any unused stalls. The only fee that will be retained by D&G will be the processing fee. We realize that things can happen after the old 10 day rule that can not be avoided and rather than penalize contestants for pre-entering our show, hopefully this will encourage contestants to pre-enter without fear of loosing their entry fee should their horse come up crippled or a family emergency. As in the past you must still present a valid vet release or doctor release in order to qualify for this refund and it must be done prior to the beginning of each race that you need to be released from. At that time your entry will be shown as a scratch and the entry fee will be deducted from the payout for that race. Should anyone have a question on the total number of contestants running at any of our races they will be able to come to the show office and ask to see the actual vet or doctor releases on that race. We hope that this will be of benefit to the contestants and in turn encourage people to go ahead and pre-enter our shows. We will still continue to have a late fee of $20.00 per entry, however since contestants will be able to pre-enter with out fear of loosing their entry fee this late fee will be the contestant’s option instead of something the contestant feels necessary and in hopes will also help us keep paperwork to a minimum at the show. We appreciate our contestants and hopefully this is one way we can show our appreciation and benefit both of us.

Tana Jureczki: In response to your new rule, I will be entering more D&G Barrel Races. I will not run my horses unless they were 100%. Thanks to your association for the rule change!

Tammy Nash: Thank you for finally making this rule. I have entered several big races in the past for different associations ,and have had my horse get hurt days before I was to run. Due to the 10 days prior rule I could not get my entry back, and didn't have a back up horse to run. Hopefully the other barrel associations will follow your lead. D&G shows are well run, and orgainized so keep up the good work!

acrobat thank you sooo much, D&G! i lost LOTS of money in entry fees due to 10-14 day med. outs for emergency knee surgery. i even called one association board 13 days before the event and told them my circumstances, to no avail. thanks for understanding the unexpecteds in life. i will continue to support your organization fully and look forward to seeing ya'll in the future.

mc The next thing that could be changed is to leave the books open until the last 25 horses run (or a good number). Something to think about!!!

burningskyranch many thanks. for the over 50 and up age group, personal and vet medical problems are an everyday worry. this often prevents some of us old folks from trying to go. your new rule is encouragement for me to continue to try and attend the most economical way possible because declining health can be an arrival issue. leave it to goose and dunn to humanize this rule. way to go!

Thanks for this rule change. Chuck and Phil, you are the greatest when considering the contestants needs. This rule change will make the D & G barrel races even more "user friendly". Lyndia Cotton

Kathy Rape: Great move! I have not entered some races in the past because my horses have had runny noses, stone bruises, etc. This way I don't have to worry so much about losing the EF.
