I have a 9 year old Impressive mare that i bought about 3 years ago.  When i first got her, she wasn't finished, but well on her way...so i did just that!  I ran her during my sophomore year of high school rodeo after she was seasoned.  she was absolutely amazing on big or small patterns hard or deep ground, and brought home a check and buckle every weekend!  Then all of a sudden on one run she ducked the second barrel!! it seriously came out of no where! i hadn't changed anything (tack, position, ect.)  Well, since then i have gotten her to stop ducking the second barrel, but now she will not run to that barrel. she'll run to 1st and 3rd and home, but not to 2nd.  i have tried almost everything (giving her time off, running by the second barrel, changing bits, EVERYTHING)  This mare has soooooo much potential!!!! i have worked on this problem for about 2 years now and nothing has worked!I absolutely love her and would hate for her to sit around and do nothing...i am thinking of making her a breakaway or calf horse, but before i do i was wondering if you had any suggestions (god knows i've asked everyone else!!) Thank you!

You should probably switch your horse to the opposite direction and see if that will resolve your problem.

I have tried going the other way. This worked for about 3 runs (if even that)...thanks for your advice!!  Anything else would help!
