I have a 1 year old that I am about to start riding. What kind of bit should i start him in?

A one yr. old is too young to be ridden.  Their bone structure is still too
immature to handle the weight and stress of a person on their back.  You
should wait until your colt is at least a 2 yr old before actually riding
them and I would use a smooth mouth ring snaffle to start his education.
