I have just started a 5 year old and I am not sure on how to stop him from crossfiring.     Any suggestions!!

I had issues with Playboy crossfiring.  Everyone I talked to said is he hurting somewhere.......no......speed him up mooch him when he does it.......no.........All of that was not right for my horse.  Playboy is very high strung and for horses that are that way they are trying to hurry or are nervous around the barrels.  You need to make around the barrels a calm great place they want to be so I would start loping about 10 large circles around the barrel and I mean big not even close to the barrel and as you get closer say easy and melt them down into the barrel and let them stand there and REST(let that be where they get to rest).  At first they are still really nervous but after few weeks it will work............trust me if it worked on as Craig Cameron said about Playboy he was one of the toughest horse he had ever seen it will work on your horse.
