When did you start barrel racing?\u00a0<\/b>I started in 1994 in Germany of all places.<\/p>\n
Are you involved in any other equine events?\u00a0<\/b>I use to start horses when younger and showed western pleasure and driving, now mostly just barrel race.<\/p>\n
Who or What got you started barrel racing?\u00a0<\/b>I was at a Rodeo in Germany and thought hey I can do that. LOL<\/p>\n
On the road things sometimes happen. Do you have an unusual or funny story?\u00a0<\/b>The very first time I went around a barrel was at a Rodeo in Germany, I fell off at the first barrel. Guess wasnt as easy as I thought.<\/p>\n
What was the name of your favorite horse and tell us a little about it.\u00a0<\/b>Tell us a little about it. I would have to say Odie, he was a little gray arab that taught me playday events and polebending. I bought him in 1996. Sold him to little girl that did very well on him.<\/p>\n
What are some of the events that you have won (or races that stand out in your mind)?\u00a0<\/b>When in Germany in 94 I placed 4th over all in the barrel racing in the ERCA, not bad for someone who didnt have a clue.<\/p>\n
Over the years have you noticed any changes in barrel racing what are the good or bad you’ve seen?\u00a0<\/b>I really like the larger money shows even though I dont go to very many because they seem to be mostly in OK, and TX.<\/p>\n
What is do you think of an equal pay out 4d?\u00a0<\/b>I like it being a 3d\/4d rider, sometimes 2d but not often. I can see where 1d riders get upset but we pay just as much as they do to barrel race.<\/p>\n
Do you think of yourself as a professional barrel racer?\u00a0<\/b>NO! LOL.<\/p>\n
If your not a professional barrel racer what do you do for a living?\u00a0<\/b>Right now I am a full time student working on a BS in Accounting plus do a workstudy with the VA.<\/p>\n
Who is your favorite barrel racer or barrel racers?\u00a0<\/b>I have so many but really enjoy watching Jordan Peterson<\/p>\n
Do you have any advice for anyone just starting out in barrel racing?\u00a0<\/b>Get help from someone who knows barrelracing and dont buy a horse you are not ready for.<\/p>\n
Do you think barrel racing should be limited to women only?\u00a0<\/b>No I get my butt kicked by men of all ages here in KY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
