Lexington, KY— Blood-Horse Publications announces that Dan Liebman has become the new editor-in-chief of The Blood-Horse magazine effective immediately. Liebman, 48, joined the company in 1993 as research director and later became executive editor in 1998. Prior to joining Blood-Horse Publications, Liebman was the Midwest deputy editor for The Racing Times from 1991-1993, and was a columnist for the Kentucky bureau of Daily Racing Form from 1984-1991. Liebman becomes the sixth editor-in-chief in the storied history of The Blood-Horse, following in the footsteps of Thomas Cromwell, Joe Estes, Kent Hollingsworth, Ed Bowen, and Ray Paulick.

Liebman commented, “The world of publishing is changing quickly. I look forward to the future as we continue working to ensure we stay on the cutting edge of print and digital media while maintaining our diligent, unsurpassed coverage of the Thoroughbred industry.”

Liebman is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in journalism. In addition, he taught a class at the UK journalism school and is currently a member of the College of Journalism and Telecommunications advisory board. He is also a member of the Leadership Council for the American Diabetes Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees for Temple Adath Israel. He is a former officer of the National Turf Writers Association (NTWA). Liebman is a native and current resident of Frankfort, KY. He has four children, Jennie, Joe, David, and Ben.
