FORT WORTH, TEXAS—Is your child interested in horses and the Western lifestyle? Then don’t miss the chance to let your buckaroo ride a horse and learn some cowboy skills. On Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) will be offering horseback rides at its free Kids Day, held at APHA headquarters, 2800 Meacham Blvd., in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, children can experience many other hands-on activities, including instruction about grooming and caring for a horse, an animal petting area, a stick horse barrel race, beginner roping lessons and much more.

There will be entertainment acts throughout the day. A team of trick riders—the Kamikaze Kowgirls—will show some of their high-flying action. Trick roper Bryan Schronk will thrill the crowd with a few fancy loops. The local Cowtown Opry musical group will be on hand to sing throughout the day. And, Paint Horse Pete, APHA’s popular mascot, will be around to say “hello,” give out pictures and sign his famous hoofprint autograph.

Kids of all ages are also invited to enjoy a chuck wagon cookout from noon to 1 p.m.

Thanks to local volunteers and establishments, this special event is free and open to the public. So, be sure to visit and enjoy a real Western experience with APHA.
