Lexington, Ky. – The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health announces that the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and Assistants (AAEVT) has become its newest association of subscribers and is pleased to recognize the generous support of Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health for providing an individual subscription to The Horse for each of the AAEVT’s more than 1,000 members.

“The veterinarian technicians are an unsung group of professionals who play a critical role in supporting the equine veterinarian,” said Bret Whitehead, Vice President of Intervet’s animal health division. “We felt that sponsoring subscriptions to The Horse was a way to help further educate an important ally in the equine veterinary healthcare industry. The Horse provides a great outlet for accessing equine health care information, and that helps makes these technicians better at their jobs.”

“The Horse is the most relevant monthly publication available for equine veterinary technicians,” noted Sheri Miller, LVT, AAEVT President. “The variety of articles applies to horse owners and veterinary health care personnel alike.” She said The Horse fits the AAEVT’s mission: “To promote the health and welfare of the horse through the education and professional enrichment of the equine veterinary technician and assistant.” Miller continued, “We would like to thank Intervet and The Horse for making this magazine available to our members.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the members of the AAEVT to The Horse subscriber family,” said Kimberly S. Brown, Publisher/Editor of The Horse. “Intervet has always been a leader in horse health education, and they continue to step forward in their goal of providing a variety of quality sources of learning for horse owners and hands-on professionals such as AAEVT members.”

The AAEVT is a sister association to the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), but it is operated under a separate non-profit corporation. Membership in the AAEVT is open to all technicians and assistants in the United States and Canada, regardless of licensure or certification, as well as to students in veterinary technician schools. The AAEVT welcomes all paraprofessionals who work in the equine veterinary field, especially those who are in practice management.

The Horse is published monthly by Blood-Horse Publications.
