Amarillo, Texas, January 9, 2006 – The world of the American Quarter Horse comes to high-definition television network INHD in two, one-hour specials beginning January 9. The shows are based at a portion of the FedEx open competition at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City and highlight the cutting and reining events along with other features.

“We are excited to highlight these two great events on INHD,” said Bill Brewer, AQHA Executive Vice President. “INHD viewers will learn why the American Quarter Horse is known as the most versatile breed in the world.”

Two of the most popular and growing events – cutting and reining – each will be featured in a one-hour special. Cutting, the two-and-one-half minute battle of horse versus cow features the top 15 riders including champions Bill Riddle, Faron Hightower, Phil Rapp, Carlos Banuelos, Bobby Lewis, Winston Hansma and Al Dunning. The cutting competition will be featured January 9 at 5 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Pacific with a repeat at 9 p.m. Pacific and again January 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern/ 5 p.m. Pacific with a repeat at 9 p.m. Pacific.

Reining, which has been compared to figure skating because of required maneuvers, will feature the exciting runs of the top 15 competitors including renowned reiners Todd Crawford, Shawn Flarida, Todd Bergen, Matt Mills, Jason Grimshaw and Brent Wright. The reining competition airs January 10 at 5 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Pacific and again January 14 at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific.

The program includes veteran sports announcer Tim Singer and reporter Jenifer Reynolds along with analyst AQHA Professional Horseman Robbie Boyce of Jacksboro, Texas.
