BLOOD-HORSE PUBLICATIONS ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF 3101 BEAUMONT CENTRE CIRCLE

LEXINGTON, KY
- Blood-Horse Publications announces the acquisition of a new building which will serve as the company's new corporate headquarters. The 46,000 square foot building, built in 1995, is located at 3101 Beaumont Centre Circle on land that was originally part of the historic 4,000-acre Beaumont Farm. The Lexington-based multimedia publisher expects to relocate to its new facility in March of 2004.

The new location is at the intersection of New Circle and Harrodsburg roads, about two miles from the company's present location at 1736 Alexandria Drive. Blood-Horse has occupied these offices since 1965.

The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company (a member of Ohio Casualty Group), former owner of the Beaumont building, will continue to house its Lexington Regional Claims Division in the building as a tenant.

Stacy V. Bearse, President and CEO of Blood-Horse Publications, noted: "Our staff will occupy a little more than half of the new building, with the remainder leased to a blue-chip tenant. The opportunity provides us with a solid real estate investment, while allowing us to perform our day-to-day duties more efficiently and reserving space for future expansion."

Beaumont Farm was established by horseman Hal Petit Headley in Lexington in the 1800s and was later owned by his son Hal Price Headley, who served as Keeneland's first president from 1936-1951. The farm was sold and developed into one of Lexington's premier office and commercial parks in the 1990s.

Blood-Horse Publications, a fixture in Lexington since 1916, publishes The Blood-Horse, the company's flagship publication and the oldest continually published North American Thoroughbred magazine; The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care, a monthly equine health care magazine; TBH MarketWatch, a newsletter for Thoroughbred investors; the official Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup souvenir magazines; Auction Edge; and Keeneland magazine. In addition, Blood-Horse Publications also operates a family of leading Web sites including bloodhorse.com, TheHorse.com, and coming January 14, the all new StallionRegister.com.

This came to me while chopping wood the other day. You've heard don't sweat the small stuff. I say save it for later and use it for kindling
