« on: March 17, 2006, 08:00:12 AM »
Hey ya'll I was just wondering, ok, I am starting to give lessons at my farm, and I was wondering what all I would, need, like a stable license, insurance, liabilty forms, etc. It is just a hole in the wall farm, but I was thinkin maybe ya'll could tell me what I legally need, thanks- Nikki

Signs everywhere with the Texas Equine Liability statement on it and have all students sign a disclaimer releasing the farm, stable, etc from liability and obtaining a liability policy for just in cases.

Let us be reminded of what Captain John Parker told his army at Lexington Green, the place where the War for Independence began in 1775. He said, “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.

Yep, if you go to the Diamond W, look at the disclaimer signs there.  Lisa had us make them BIG so that you will have to be blind to miss them, I guess we could make them in braile and good luck with your venture (also the name of Tam'et's yellow horse). :-*

If you allow ANYONE to ride without a helmet be sure to include that with your liability release as a separate disclaimer and have EVERYONE sign one - even your "friends".  When accidents happen, and they will, the best comes out in people but unfortunately, sometimes the worst comes out too!  No signature - no ride!
