Barrel practice
« on: March 17, 2006, 10:21:33 PM »
Where do you practice barrels?  Are you a member of a riding club, practice where you board, or is there a lighted, watered, drug (dragged????) arena available free of charge for you to use whenever you want?  If you are running at a particular arena, is that arena available for you to practice in the night before?

Curious for a particular reason, but curious nonetheless......thanks.

Hello!
We (my daughter and I) mostly practice at our home arena.  We are very blessed to have a 132X265 arena at our house with serviceable lights.  The ground could be better, but hey, that's barrel racing.
But most arenas around our way (Central Texas) usually have exhibitions before a barrel race.  And a lot of them have weeknight jackpots, so you can always get in that arena some time shortly before your run.
Hope this satisfies some of your curiosity.
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!
