Amarillo, Texas, October 19, 2005 – Especially for the 2005 American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show, singer-songwriter Charis Thorsell has written and will perform her original song “Take the World by the Reins” November 17-19 at the State Fair Park.

“Take the World by the Reins,” was tailor-made for the World Show, inspired by her western lifestyle and knowledge of the breed. Thorsell was brought up around the AQHA show pen, and American Quarter Horses are an important part of her family. Thorsell’s father, Denny Thorsell, is an AQHA judge and her brother, Shawn, is an American Quarter Horse trainer.

“I love the American Quarter Horse industry, it inspires me to write,” said Thorsell.

She feels that through her songs she can communicate the feelings of everyone who loves the breed.

Thorsell will perform Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 17-19, during the evening finals performances. She will be available for signing autographs at various times November 16-19 in the AQHA booth located at the trade show in the Travel and Transportation Building.

“Take the World by the Reins,” is available in limited release through the Quarter Horse Outfitters’ booth at the trade show in the Travel and Transportation Building.
