Lexington, KY — Seven-time Eclipse Award-winning writer Bill Nack, one of sports’ most distinguished authors and writers, will be the special guest live online for the Wednesday, April 19th edition of bloodhorse.com’s “Talkin’ Horses” beginning at Noon ET (9:00 a.m. PT); online at www.bloodhorse.com/talkinhorses.

A retired senior writer for Sports Illustrated and best known for writing Big Red of Meadow Stable (reissued under the title Secretariat: The Making of a Champion), Nack still contributes to GQ and Sports Illustrated, and has been a contributor to The Blood-Horse’s Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup coverage for several years. In addition, Nack is currently a consultant for the filming of the ABC/ESPN made for television movie Ruffian, and was a panelist for Horse Racing’s Top 100 Moments and Thoroughbred Champions: Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century, available from Eclipse Press and ExclusivelyEquine.com.

Born in Chicago and raised in Skokie, Ill., Nack graduated from the University of Illinois before serving two years in the Army, the second in Vietnam. After leaving the service, he was a political and environmental writer at Newsday for four years, a turf writer for three years, and then served as a Newsday sports columnist for four years before joining Sports Illustrated. More recently, Nack retired to write freelance articles and non-fiction. He has three daughters and a son and lives in Washington, D.C.
