am having a problem with my daughters horse that I can not figure out how to fix. Maybe you can suggest something for us to try. When we trot he does fine, when we lope he does okay but when we add alittle speed, he starts to turn and then he gets to a point and it is like he either lunges or rares up, not for but as if he is stiffens up and fights the turn. I go to the left barrel first and he does it on the first. If I go to the right he turns the 1st barrel and when he gets to that same point on the second barrel he does the same thing.
I have a 9 year old gelding that you used to own, his name is Wizard of Honor. He is truly a great animal and I love him dearly. I was kind of frustrated with him for a while because we just kept running 3d and 4d times and I know that the people who had him before me had some success with him.
I am very new to barrel racing so forgive my ignorance, please. I want
to understand how the payout structure works. I think it works this way– 1D sets the time and then 1/2 seconds are added to this time to get the 2D winning time, then 1/2 second added for the 3D and so on.
