FORT WORTH – The American Paint Horse Association successfully concluded the 2019 APHA Youth World Championship Show after 9 days of premier competition for youth ages 18 and under aboard American Paint Horses. In addition, all world championship cutting classes (Open, Amateur and Youth) were held during the show. On April 20 the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) reported that another Clark County, Nevada, horse has tested positive for non-neuropathogenic equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1). Please be aware Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM), the neurologic disease linked to Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1), was confirmed in a Glasscock County Quarter Horse on April 16, 2019. This is the second case of EHM in Texas this year. The positive horse attended a seven-day event at the Brazos County Expo center in Bryan, Texas starting on April 1.
