got a horse off the race track(hes been off almost two years) he is 6 now and a Tb.and he use 2 have a great pattern(i started him and broke him 2 a bit) i am 15…..he can fly and he loves to turn…..he slides around 1st and 3rd barrel…but 2nd he scotches and then when hes comming out like jumps right….
I have a 4 year old thoroughbred mare off the track and I have started
her on barrels. I’ve done all the slowwork with her backing up, etc. the
first time we walk or trot through the pattern she is fine, but the next
times she just gets hotter and hotter and wanting to run.
I just bought a 5 year old gelding of the track. He is softer in the mouth than most horses of the track but still needs a little extra to teach him to stop a little easier. What do you suggest? Any information would be helpful. Thank You, Mickie Murray
