AQHA to Offer Spring Internships

The application deadline for both positions is October 15

Amarillo, Texas, October 3, 2005 – The American Quarter Horse Association’s Marketing and Publications departments will hire student interns for the spring semester (January through May). Both departments offer three separate internships for the summer, fall and spring.

The marketing department works in all aspects of the American Quarter Horse industry. The A.H. “Bud” Ferber intern will aid in AQHA’s promotions, advertising and marketing program. The duties will include writing press releases and developing media relationships with agencies and industry leaders. The paid internship is designed to develop the student’s ability to implement ideas from theory.

The intern will work within AQHA’s Marketing Department to maintain a consistent voice and look for the American Quarter Horse industry, and to maintain the leadership and membership activities in the organization. The student also will aid in the planning and implementing of AQHA’s major events including the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show, the Bayer Select World Championship Show, the AQHA World Championship Show and the AQHA Convention.

The Brown Printing Publications intern will be challenged to write features and short items for print and online coverage of the American Quarter Horse industry and related activities while developing relationships with trainers, breeders and industry leaders. This position assists with producing editorial content for The American Quarter Horse Journal, The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal and America’s Horse magazines. AQHA’s publications reach into all aspects of the horse industry, regardless of discipline.
