Get the World Show Bug
Amarillo, Texas, October 18, 2005 – Get the Q-Bug buzz at this year’s American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show, and learn everything you wanted to know about the AQHA World showing experience.
Everyone will have the opportunity to take advantage the of Q-Bug live commentary during the FedEx Open Finals, November 16-19 beginning at 7 p.m.
Brought to you by The American Quarter Horse Journal, Q-Bugs are the latest in AQHA World Show technology and were created in an effort to educate attendees on all aspects of competition. These “bugs†are small, wireless receivers that allow spectators to listen to live commentary by industry professionals during competition.
“Q-Bugs serve a purpose much like that of a commentator during a football game,†said AQHA Manager of Marketing Services Todd Branson. “This way, if a person is unsure about the dynamics of a particular event they may listen and learn from professionals who know.â€
The commentators will be Jeff Medders and Chris Kotulak. Medders, the host of “America’s Horse,†AQHA’s weekly television show on TVG, has hosted rodeos, horse racing and other events on CBS, ESPN, ESPN2 and Outdoor Life Network.
Kotulak is an anchor for the TVG Network, a network dedicated to horses and horse racing. He also hosts The Q-Life, a new lifestyle series on TVG, featuring American Quarter Horse farms and ranches.
Q-Bugs are free for public use and may be picked up from The American Quarter Horse Journal staff in the State Fair Park Coliseum concourse beginning November 16 at 6 p.m.

More highlights from the 2005 World Show also will be featured on “America’s Horse,†December 4 at 11:30a.m. Eastern/8:30 a.m. Pacific and again December 11 at 11 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Pacific.
In addition, American Quarter Horses take center stage on Sunday, January 8, 2006, at 4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific on NBC Television. The one-hour special, which showcases the American Quarter Horse lifestyle, is based at the World Show and highlights the reining and cutting competition along with other events.
