This summer was fairly uneventful at LePage’s Rising Sun Farm in Derby. The cows are healthy and there have been no medical emergencies.
That’s fortunate. The organic dairy farm has been without a veterinarian since June, when Lorri and Bobby LePage received a letter from their clinic saying the farm would no longer be served.
“It came a shock to say the least,” Lorri LePage said. “There’s only one other vet in the area that does large animals, and they are maxed out.”
