Research grants to bolster livestock emergency response, farm ops

South Carolina State University’s 1890 Research and Extension Program has awarded $1.5 million in grants to fund research in everything from childhood obesity to livestock emergency response.

The 1890 program awarded up to $100,000 per year for three years to five faculty members whose proposals best aligned with the program’s overall mission: to improve quality of life by identifying solutions to the challenges and problems that impact South Carolinians. Read more:
