Got Country Grip, one of the fastest American Paint Horses in the world

Got CountryGrip, one of the fastest American Paint Horses in the world, won the Speedhorse Sprint Derby July 28 at Fair Meadows racetrack in Tulsa, Okla.

Racing fans watched the 3-year-old Paint win by three-fourths of a length. The Oklahoma-bred covered the 350 yards in 17.74 seconds into a head wind.

Got Country Grip won for the 12th straight time. His stablemate, Texas Royal Snow, won the $116,000 Speedhorse Sprint Futurity as owner Jimmy Maddux, jockey G.R. Carter Jr. and trainer Brandon Parum pulled off the rich Stakes double. The victory pushed Got Country Grip’s earnings to $201,800

“No doubt he’s the fastest,” said multiple AQHA and APHA champion jockey, G.R. Carter, Jr., about all the horses he has ridden. “He’s not even a challenge…he’s on top of my list.”
