County Pulls for U-Md. to Rethink Proposed Horse Park

Howard officials hope the University of Maryland will reconsider its quick dismissal of using the university’s research farm west of Ellicott City as the setting for a state horse park.

The park, like others around the country, would host competitive events such as show jumping and dressage, and would have an indoor arena and trails. Proponents of the park said they were disappointed that university leaders rejected the idea soon after Howard officials created a panel to study the tourism facility.
