EHV-1 POSITIVE PONY IN KENTUCKY; NOT MUTANT STRAIN

A 7-year-old Paint pony gelding in Scott County, Ky., has tested positive for equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) on PCR (polymerase chain reaction test) and has neurologic signs, according to a statement from the Kentucky State Veterinarian’s office.
