THE BLOOD-HORSE MARKETWATCH NEWSLETTER WINS 2008 APEX AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

Lexington, Ky. – Blood-Horse Publications announces that The Blood-Horse MarketWatch, a comprehensive newsletter for Thoroughbred investment professionals, has received an Award for Publication Excellence in the print newsletter class of the twentieth annual APEX® Awards. The esteemed program recognizes excellence in publications work by professional communicators. APEX® Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. The Blood-Horse MarketWatch was one of nearly 4,500 national and international entries in this year’s competition. Overall, 1,393 Awards of Excellence were awarded, recognizing exceptional entries in 110 subcategories. The APEX® Awards are sponsored by the editors of Writing That Works, a division of Communications Concepts, Inc.

The APEX® Award is the second publication honor bestowed upon The Blood-Horse MarketWatch in the past month. In June, the newsletter was also awarded Second Place in the equine-related newsletter (print) category of the 2008 American Horse Publications’ Awards Program. This marks the third time in the past four years The Blood-Horse MarketWatch has won an APEX® Award.

“Since 1997, MarketWatch has been at the forefront of statistical information and analysis, providing professionals in the Thoroughbred industry with the information they need to achieve their goals,” noted Jason Russo, editor of The Blood-Horse MarketWatch. “In the coming months, we’ll be unveiling some exciting new features in the newsletter.
